Your Heart, Your Core, Your Life

The heart, it is the core, it’s the drumbeat that keeps you moving, and it’s the stem of the passion that drives you. February marks a time to focus on all things heart-related. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner and American Heart Month in full effect, it’s only appropriate to put your heart first and focus on how you can support your heart this month and year round.

You don’t smoke, you’re not a heavy drinker, your blood pressure is in check, and your cholesterol is great, what more can you do? Practice these small but mighty daily heart health tips.

  • Just Be
    Take some time to “just be” with meditation. Daily meditation promotes relaxation which in turn helps to lower stress and stress hormones. Carve out a few minutes each day to sit quietly, stay in the moment and focus on your breathing.   • Get up Off of That Thing
    Yes, daily exercise that gets your blood pumping is beneficial for heart health, but there is something simple you can do in addition throughout your day that helps your heart as well, stand.

    The simple act of standing can help get your blood pumping. Think about what typically happens while you are standing. Your body is working harder than it would while you are sitting.
