Protecting Our Planet
From the air we breathe to the organic Wild Microalgae we nourish our bodies with, this planet is continuously working to provide for us. Here at New Earth, we understand how valuable this earth is, which is why we make it a priority to honor and protect it.
Our efforts start on the lake, where we run a variety of tests to track environmental quality and make sure that our harvesting processes aren’t harming the algae or its environment. Additionally, all of our harvesters and transport boats were designed and built by our in-house team of fabricators and engineers, who made it a point to use green technology wherever possible.
Our environmental efforts don’t stop there. They also can be found in our processes for selecting ingredients and suppliers. Before choosing new suppliers, we make it a point to ask about their sustainability practices so we can purchase from sustainable suppliers as often as possible. And when it comes to encapsulating the final products, we use vegetarian, plant-based capsules because they have a lower carbon footprint than gelatin capsules.
One of the most important things we look for when sourcing ingredients is that they are all Non-GMO. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have had their genetic makeup altered by engineering techniques. While the process of genetically modifying crops is widely used today, these processes have been found to negatively impact the environment. That’s why we will only work with ingredients that are completely natural and without genetic modification, and we always require non-GMO certifications from the suppliers we purchase from.
Once our products are bottled and packaged, our focus shifts to getting your products to you in an environmentally friendly manner. That’s why our shipping department uses compostable packing peanuts that are made from potato starch. They also keep corrugated shipping boxes on hand in a variety of sizes so they can always use the smallest box possible for your order. This allows us to use less cardboard and keep your package as light as possible so less fuel will be used during transportation. We know it sounds small, but over the course of a year, all these small actions add up to have a big impact.
A healthy environment is important to New Earth on a personal and professional level. To quote New Earth President Jerry Anderson, “Clean air and water are essentials for healthy living. Our children and our children’s children deserve to inherit a home we have taken care of.” That’s why we have put Mother Earth at the center of everything we do.
