We’re Making Every Day Earth Day
Let’s take a moment to celebrate Mother Earth and everything she does for us. The food we eat, the water we drink, the air around us, the ground where all life starts and ends–she is there for us when we need her.
In just over a week, the world will be coming together to celebrate Earth Day–a day dedicated to honoring and protecting this beautiful planet we live on. However, here at New Earth, we believe that Mother Earth deserves to be celebrated and protected more than one day a year. That’s why, as a company, we do everything we can to help ensure she is vibrant and thriving for years to come.
After all, the very core of our business relies on this planet’s ability to produce organic Wild Microalgae®, the most nutrient-rich superfood on the planet. From harvesting to shipping, we have set out to do our part in preserving the environment by making all of our processes as earth-friendly as possible.
Here are just a few of the ways we have prioritized protecting Mother Earth.
- Testing and Harvesting. Our efforts start on the lake, where we run a variety of tests to track environmental quality and make sure that our harvesting processes aren’t harmful to the algae or the surrounding environment. Additionally, all of our harvesters and transport boats were designed and built by our in-house team of fabricators and engineers, who made it a point to use green technology wherever possible.
- Ingredient Selection. Before choosing new suppliers for our ingredients, we make it a point to ask about their sustainability practices. This allows us to purchase from sustainable suppliers as often as possible. We also encapsulate our products in vegetarian, plant-based capsules that have a lower carbon footprint than gelatin capsules. Additionally, we ensure our ingredients are earth-friendly by requiring suppliers to be non-GMO certified and choosing to use certified organic ingredients whenever possible.
- Shipping. We strive to get your favorite products to you in an environmentally friendly manner. That’s why our shipping department uses shipping boxes that are made of corrugated cardboard as well as compostable packing peanuts that are made from potato starch.
As Earth Day approaches, we invite you to take a moment to think about what kind of daily shifts you can make to help protect and preserve this environment for future generations to enjoy. Can you start composting or set up a recycling system at home? What about making a switch to eco-friendly cleaning products? Or maybe you can conserve energy by walking to work, turning down your thermostat, or unplugging appliances when they are not in use? We know it may sound small, but it’s these small actions that add up to make a big impact on the world around us.
Implementing small, sustainable changes into our operations and our lives is a big part of living the #NewEarthLife. If you are interested in learning more about our sustainability practices here at New Earth, we invite you to join us for a virtual tour of our eco-friendly processes. We hope to see you there!
