Mix up Your Workouts With Mother Nature
Variety is the spice of life, especially when it comes to fitness. While consistency helps us create good workout habits, incorporating a variety of exercises is best for overall physical health and exercise enjoyment. Leaning on Mother Nature and the seasons is an excellent way to incorporate variety into your weekly workout regimen.

As humans, we are seasonal creatures so it only makes sense to turn to nature for guidance. During the winter you likely have the urge to do one of two things, rest with the season or push the pedal to the medal and go after your New Year’s resolutions. No matter where you fall you can embrace this quiet “inward” season to get the most out of your workouts.

Winter is the perfect season to focus on inward vitality and there are a variety of exercises you can turn to, including tai chi, yoga, and pilates. These workouts not only help improve flexibility, coordination, and balance but they are mentally challenging as well. They provide an opportunity to challenge your mental and physical strength and get in tune with your body and its signals.

Winter doesn’t have to be all about indoor activities though. The season brings unique opportunities for outdoor cardio as well. The snowfall and freezing weather provides the perfect conditions for cross country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing. These winter sports provide a great excuse to get outside and maintain your cardiovascular health.

Whatever your winter workout consists of, don’t forget to take time to slow down and turn inward during this natural season of hibernation. We would love to see your winter activities in action! Don’t forget to share your New Earth lifestyle on social media with #NewEarthLife.
