Feel Your Best at Work

The daily grind at work can take its toll on all of us. Especially, if we don’t make taking care of ourselves a priority. Here are five quick and easy tips to look and feel better at work.

Exercise
If you hold down a desk all day then it is vitally important to find ways to move around during the workday. Take the opportunity to get outside for a brisk walk and some sunshine. If the weather is bad then you can do some light calisthenics in your work area such as squats and lunges. If you prefer not to work up a sweat then some good stretches will also do the trick.

Stay Hydrated
Many of us survive the work day on coffee but we really need water more than we need the caffeine. Set a goal to drink 6 to 8 servings (48-64 ounces) of water each workday for healthier skin. This will also lead to more trips to the restroom which will help you get your steps in.

Eat Healthy
Long periods of work lead to cravings that usually get help from vending machine food. Pack some healthy snacks such as trail mix or fruit so that you can bridge the gap between meals with healthier options.

Meditate
You need a healthy mind to go with that healthy body. Use your break times to find a quiet place and reset your mind. Just 5 to 10 minutes of meditation can make a world of difference in your mental and emotional abilities.
